The Impacts of Environmental and Socio-Economic Risks on the Fisheries in the Mediterranean Region

The objective of this study is to investigate the impacts environmental and socio-economic risks on fisheries in Mediterranean region from an economic point view. A balanced panel 21 countries for 2001–2018 has been estimated by GLS method, considering heteroskedasticity correlation among cross sections. volume fish landed values have considered two models. results show that increases sea bottom surface temperature, H+ ion concentration salinity threaten temperature negatively influence values. In addition, there inverse U-shaped relationship between human population fisheries. Moreover, Human Development Index (HDI), indicator countries’ adaptive capacity, a positive impact indicates can safeguard improving their capacity. Finally, our strongly risk climate change are adversely impacted as well worsening conditions absence adaptation plans.
